Randy Moyer Sr.

Randy Moyer Sr. has been a respected auctioneering professional for more than 40 years. In recognition of his dedication, leadership, and service to the industry, he was named the 2025 NYS Auctioneer of the Year by the New York State Auctioneers Association. Randy also earned the title of NYS Auctioneer Champion in 1994 and has spent decades serving and supporting the auction profession throughout New York State and beyond.

A licensed real estate broker since 1987, Randy has built his career around the power of auction marketing, specializing in selling real estate, estates, equipment, vehicles, and personal property through the auction method. He is a graduate of the Certified Auctioneer Institute, earning the prestigious CAI designation after completing the three-year program at Indiana University — an achievement held by only a small percentage of auctioneers nationwide. He has also completed the Certified Estate Specialist and Appraisal Specialist courses, along with numerous continuing education and industry-specific programs.

Throughout his career, Randy has conducted and called auctions in eight states and has served as lead auctioneer for several regional and national auction companies. In addition to his work with estate, real estate, equipment, and specialty auctions, he has also held regular auctioneering roles at wholesale automobile auctions and monthly machinery auctions. He maintains multiple licenses and bonds in New York, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.

Randy has also been deeply involved in professional leadership. He served for several years on the NYS Auctioneers Association Board of Directors, later serving as Chairman and as the association’s 2022 President. He currently serves as the New York State Ambassador for the National Auction Association, continuing his commitment to advancing and representing the auction industry.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Randy has remained active in his local community. He is a past director of the Alden Chamber of Commerce, a past president and life member of the Alden Historical Society, and a life member of the Newstead Historical Society.

A lifelong resident of Alden, Randy and his wife, Barb, have raised six children and enjoy spending time with their six grandchildren. They remain active members of their church and community, where Randy continues to be known for his experience, integrity, and commitment to serving others.

Growing up in the auction business, Randy learned early on what it takes to serve clients well, work hard, and guide people through the auction process with confidence. His lifelong exposure to the industry has shaped both his knowledge and his commitment to helping others.

A graduate of Houghton College with a degree in Business and Marketing, Randy combines practical auction experience with a solid educational background to better serve clients, sellers, and buyers on a daily basis. He is also a New York State Licensed Real Estate Salesperson, allowing him to assist with both personal property and real estate auction needs.

Randy is married and the proud father of three children. Outside of the auction business, he is active in his church and community and serves as a New York State EMT with the Alden Fire Department.
